Rep. Tricia Farley-Bouvier to Discuss Safe Implementation of AGVs at the July General ROC Meeting

At the July General ROC meeting (which takes place this coming Tuesday, July 25th at 5pm in the usual 10 Park Plaza conference rooms), we will welcome Representative Tricia Farley-Bouvier from the Massachusetts State Legislature. She will discuss H.1829, a bill to promote the safe integration of autonomous vehicles into the transportation system of the Commonwealth. This bill was created by her and Representative Jason M. Lewis at the beginning of 2017. Please join us for this conversation on AGVs, which follows-up our April forum on the same subject.

MBTA ROC Extends Membership Application Deadline

The MBTA Rider Oversight committee (ROC) is extending its membership application deadline through July 31, 2017. All applications that have been received so far are still under consideration.

The MBTA ROC is a diverse group of riders and MBTA employees who provide recommendations to the MBTA and communicate the needs and concerns of all riders. We are seeking individuals with a strong interest in transit issues and a willingness to make a firm commitment to the Committee’s mission. We require that you be able to commit to meeting twice a month for a total of 3.5 to 4.0 hours per month.

FORUM: Automated Vehicles and the Future of Equity in Public Transit

Please join us for a discussion about how driverless vehicles will potentially impact our public transit systems, and how we can work to develop policies that will ensure that we have a public transit system that is accessible to all.

At this forum, we will encourage participation by the audience. Therefore, after brief remarks by the panelists, we will have at least 30-40 minutes of Q&A between the audience and the panelists.
